The map on your property page is working for someone else

A map on a holiday cottage page does one useful thing and one damaging thing. It shows the guest where the cottage is. It also hands them a map covered in other places to stay.

Conventional mapping tools, as Luxury Coastal put it in their own announcement, “often send users off to other websites.” For an agency whose real advantage is knowing a stretch of coast better than an algorithm does, that is a poor trade. The guest arrives interested in your cottage and leaves holding somebody else’s listing.

Luxury Coastal had the local knowledge. Their team are South West people and the business is built on it. What they did not have was a way to put that knowledge in front of a guest at the moment it mattered, without showing them the competition at the same time.

The Kings Quay guide

The Kings Quay guide's map of the same streets: the property marker on the harbour, with nearby restaurants and attractions.
The same streets with Geovey: the property, and the places its guests go. No other accommodation.

The difference is not cartography, it is where the guest goes next. A Geovey guide is centred on the property and carries no competing accommodation at all.

Their local expertise, on the property page

Geovey map guides now sit on Luxury Coastal property pages, replacing generic mapping with the recommendations their own team would give a guest in person.

  1. 01

Centred on the property. Every guide is built around one cottage, and shows no other accommodation.

  2. 02

Their knowledge, not an algorithm’s. Hidden coves, independent cafés and coastal walks, chosen by people who know the coast.

  3. 03

Photos, video and audio guides attached to the places themselves, rather than buried in a blog post.

  4. 04

Directions from the front door to any point on the map, walking or driving.

  5. 05

Bookmarking and saved itineraries, so the holiday gets planned on Luxury Coastal’s page and not somewhere else.

  6. 06

Custom trails and offline use, for a coast where the signal runs out before the footpath does.

Why they did it

“We are incredibly proud to be the first company to offer Geovey to our guests. Our properties are in some of the most beautiful coastal spots in the South West, and we wanted a tool that enables guests to uncover this easily and effectively. Geovey allows us to share our local expertise in a way that is intuitive and genuinely useful for holiday planning.”
— James Lund, Marketing Director, Luxury Coastal

The partnership went live in April 2026 and was covered that June by the regional press as a local alternative to Google Maps: two South West businesses arguing that specialist knowledge of a place beats an algorithm’s guess at it.

“Luxury Coastal is a perfect partner for our launch. They understand that the future of holidays in the South West isn’t just about the stay; it’s about the local experiences that ensure that guests get under the skin of a destination.”
— Dave Barter, Founder, Geovey

What it actually takes

Less than most agencies expect. Geovey reads your published properties straight from Supercontrol, or from a spreadsheet if you would rather, and pre-populates a guide for every one of them: food and drink, walks, history, events and local knowledge, already on the map before anyone on your team touches it.

From there your staff edit. Add the places you actually recommend, group them into a suggested day out, build an area template once and apply it to every property in that region. Embedding is a few lines of code on a property page, or a standalone link and QR code if you want to move faster than your web agency can.

Pricing is a fixed annual fee per property, agreed in advance, rather than a per-request API bill that grows with your own success. There is no usage meter to watch.

See it with your own property on it

We are a growing business in Brixham, Devon. If you would like to see what this looks like for your portfolio, we will build a guide around one of your actual properties and walk you through it. The founder does the demo himself.
